My name is Zoee Rasso and I am a senior BFA painting major at CSU. My experience in the Art Department has been absolutely wonderful, I couldn't ask for a better college experience. The facilities are top notch, clean, and incredibly spacious, and the faculty are all truly dedicated to helping you get to wherever you want to be. Thanks to the generosity and help from Art department donors and faculty, I have been able to complete 3 studio internships, go on two study abroad trips to Japan and Italy, and be accepted into an artist residency program for this Summer, all while be completely free of any student debt.

My time in the CSU Art Department was truly transformative. The faculty provided invaluable mentorship, and the program equipped me with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to grow as both an artist and a professional. Through CSU, I was exposed to a diverse range of artistic disciplines, exhibitions, and travel experiences that shaped my creative practice. Since graduating, I have earned my MFA, built a career in the arts, and exhibited my work nationally. I’m grateful to have returned to my alma mater to help mentor and inspire the next generation of artists at Columbus State University.

I have the privilege of providing students with an opportunity to discover their own creative talents while preparing themselves for arts-related careers or graduate school. We provide internships, collaborative projects, seminars, and experiential learning with community partners that culminate in an e-portfolio capstone course.
