Financial Aid
Supporting the future you’re building
It all adds up to your success
Financial Aid Options
Financial aid helps make your education at CSU accessible and affordable. Funding may come from a variety of sources, and eligibility and amounts are typically based on financial need or academic merit. Our goal is simple: to ensure finances won’t stand between you and the future you’re building.
Scholarships
Each academic year, more than 1,200 CSU students receive approximately $3 million in scholarships, with awards ranging from $100 to $5,000. Made possible by generous donors who believe in the power of education, these scholarships recognize academic achievement, leadership potential, and financial need.
Grants
Student grants, typically based on financial need, are a type of financial aid that doesn’t require repayment. This funding is most commonly provided by state and federal governments.
Loans
Student loans are funds borrowed to specifically pay for college related expenses. Federally funded loan options offer lower interest rates while private loans can help with any additional funding you may need. All loans must be paid back with interest after you graduate or leave school.
On-Campus Student Employment
Federal Work-Study provides on-campus job opportunities for students with financial need. There are also a variety of student employment opportunities open to all students, regardless of financial need. Graduate assistantships and fellowships offer paid, part-time positions for qualified graduate students supporting faculty and staff.
It all starts with the FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step toward unlocking several funding options, including Georgia’s HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships, the Pell Grant, and federal student loans. It’s simpler than you may think, and our team is here to guide you. Be mindful of important deadlines and start your application today.
